Even though sales are processed via our online shop, every Orcawave purchase is dealt with on a one-on-one basis.

Please note that we build our Orcawave portable spirometers on order. Unless there is stock available, please allow 3-4 weeks for production and delivery time.

PULMONARY FUNCTIONS PARAMETERS MEASURED

The Orcawave spirometer was designed to measure the following parameters:

  • Tidal Volume (TV)

    The volume of air transported in and out of a patient’s lungs during a normal (unforced) breath.

  • Forced Vital Capacity (FVC)

    The volume of air (measured in litres) that can be forcibly exhaled after a full inhalation.

  • Forced Expiratory Volume in One Second (FEV1)

    The amount of air (measured in litres) a patient can exhale in one second during a forced exhalation.

  • FEV1 vs FVC (FEV1 / FVC Ratio)

    The ratio of air a patient can expel in one second, compared to their full lung volume.

  • Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF)

    A patient’s maximum speed of exhalation, measured in litres per second.
